Welcome!

This blog is dedicated to my (future) dog -yes I’m sad, I know, I don’t even have the dog yet. Tony and I are in the process of locating a breeder for our future pug “Giggs” -hence the name of the blog. We have decided on a fawn male and will hopefully have one shortly after we move into our new home mid December. I want to document the whole “puppy process” on the blog so I’m starting early. This way I can document everything right from square one.

I’ve wanted a pug for about a year and a half now but our building strata does not allow pets so our plans were put on hold until we could get a place of our own (we rent right now). Anyway, this summer we purchased a townhouse in a development that allows pets and we’re just waiting for the place to be built. It’s been a long wait and we’re definitely getting anxious to move. In the meantime I have become “pug possessed” and I’ve researched everything pug. (My friends and family all think I’m nuts and need help.) In my internet travels, I came across some blogs that people have written about their dogs. That sealed the deal for me and made me love pugs even more and made me want to start my own pug blog. I’ve thought of blogging in the past but couldn’t really see good reason to because I didn’t just want to talk about myself (boring). I think that my pug will be the perfect platform!

Starting the blog now is also another way to bide my time until I actually get the dog since I’ve researched as much as I can about the breed. I’ve already purchased about all Tony will let me buy since I don’t actually have the dog yet (now you probably think I’m nuts too) so I need something else to distract me. Right now I’m waiting for several breeders to get back to me about the availability of puppies for December so I’m biting my nails here. I think I’ve been patient enough. Everyone I know thinks I’m obsessed (ok, just a little) and they’ve heard about all they want to hear on the subject so now I am venting to the blogging community.
