July Pug Meet

July 30, 2007

Our July pug meet was Saturday at the dog beach! Giggs got to spend some time swimming, which is not his favorite activity these days. I’m hoping it grows on him because a water-loving dog is so much fun. I want to be able to take him to the beach with me and go out on the big air mattress, and it kinda helps if he likes the water. Anyway, most of the time spent in the water this Saturday was to keep him wet and cool, meaning I would put him in the water and he would swim straight for shore. Then I would let him play for a while until his next ‘dip’. On to the pictures!

If left to his own devices, this is as far as
Giggs will venture into the water:

Giggs’ puggle friend Tango let us try her life jacket.
We were hoping it would give him confidence:

He looks thrilled.

A kiss from mama to help:

Made it!

Giggs made a new friend. Five month old Irwin.
Irwin digs orange:

A water treadmill:

Tango had to leave so we gave her life jacket
back and Giggs spent the rest of the time
swimming without.

Shake it baby!

Some on land action -Giggs sandwich:

That’s Giggs pinning down Pearl and
yup, you guessed it, Irwin sneaking
up from behind.

Sherman, our organizer’s pug, thinks he’s part lab:

He spent the whole time in the water! I didn’t
think I’d ever see a pug swim so well.
Let alone retrieve tennis balls!

Mission accomplished! Tired pug:

It was a fun way to spend the morning.
I think we’ll do it again soon.

Gettin’ Political

If you’re a Canadian PLEASE check out this link regarding the North American Union and TELL people about it! It’s happening on August 20-21 and very few Canadians know about it.

http://www.realitycheck.typepad.com/

I’ve known about this issue for some time but I had no idea about this upcoming Security and Prosperity Leaders Summit. Apparently very few Canadians do as the general media is not announcing it for some reason (wonder why?). Our government shouldn’t be allowed to sneak behind our backs like this!

If you want to DO SOMETHING about it, here are some options:

Email the Prime Minister:
Pre-written:

Write your own:

This is BULLSHIT! Canada is NOT a fascist state! We have democracy, so let’s use it!

Apparently, in order to direct a film these days…

July 19, 2007

you don’t even need to read the book it’s supposed to be about!

In order to avoid a lengthy rant, that is all I’m going to say right now.

Lots O Company!

Sorry for the lack of posts recently! We’ve had lots of company in the past week and a half (darn our hide-a-bed and spare room)! My parents are also away for a month (on the trip I was also supposed to go on…) so we’ve been keeping tabs on my littlest sis (18 yrs old).

We had a gong show of a BBQ here at the house last night and I think there’s pictures so I may post some later with an update of our goings on -or I’ll just make some shit up.

Summer time here is usually very busy with out of town company because everyone wants to visit here in the summer. I haven’t even been to the beach yet! Arrgggghhh!

More coming soon!
